The deadline to register for the Appalachian Group Working Group Community Organizing Summit is 4 p.m. tomorrow, Friday, March 30.

We wanted to alert folks living in and near the Charleston to two upcoming events:
Tomorrow, March 30 at 7 p.m.: The West Virginia Poor People’s Campaign will conduct a mass meeting Friday, beginning at the Teamsters Local #175 Hall in South Charleston.
The featured speaker for this event is the Rev. Dr. William J. Barber II, co-chair of the U.S. Poor People’s Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival.” An author, preacher and professor, Barber is president and senior lecturer of Repairers of the Breach and a member of the national board of the NAACP, chairing its Legislative Political Action Committee.
Tuesday, April 3 at 7 p.m.: Free Screening of In the Hills and Hollows
Join This is Public Health at the WV International Film Festival’s Underground Cinema for a special screening on Tuesday, April 3 at 7 p.m. of In the Hills and Hollows by award winning freelance photographer and visual storyteller Keely Kernan.
A panel Q&A will follow the film with Keely Kernan (over Skype), OVEC’s executive director Natalie Thompson, and Karan Ireland, West Virginia Environmental Council.
This event is free, but tickets are required.
