During the week of Earth Day 2018, WV PBS is airing the documentary What Lies Upstream. The Independent Lens documentary is also available to stream online. The film examines the 2014 MCHM water crisis, water issues around the nation and the role of regulators.

If it is developed, this hub would bring a massive build-up of the petrochemical industry along the Ohio River from Beaver, PA, beyond Huntington, WV, and into Catlettsburg, KY. It would include a spur from the Kanawha River. Champions of the proposed hub see this as a good thing. But, we know otherwise from the experience of people who live near petrochemical plants.
