Nine O&G Companies Want 50-Year “Incidental Take Permit” for 5 Bat Species: Comment!
Comment online or in person. A coalition of nine oil and gas companies will be requesting a 50-year incidental take permit (ITP) to cover potential effects to five bat species from their oil and gas exploration, production and maintenance activities in Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. The bat species include the endangered Indiana bat, threatened northern long-eared bat, eastern small-footed bat, little brown bat and tri-colored bat.
Online Public Meetings: Tell EPA to Write Protective Aboveground Storage Tank Rule
EPA needs to hear loud and clear that the Agency should move as quickly as possible to write and adopt a strong rule to prevent chemical spills from aboveground storage tanks. Multiple Fracked Gas Pipelines Planned to Run Near or Cross Under Ohio River
Of all the pipelines planned for the Huntington area, Columbia’s proposed Leach Xpress pipeline is farthest along in the approval process. It would originate near the Ohio/Pennsylvania border, pass through Ohio’s fracking region, and then go under the Ohio River near the Camden Amusement Park, near Huntington, WV.
